The press conference of the „LIFE CONTRA Ailanthus” project – Establishing control of invasive alien species Ailanthus altissima (tree of heaven) in Croatia was held on May 24th, 2021, at Skradinski buk in Krka National Park.
The press conference was opened by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tomislav Ćorić. The project goals and planned activities were presented by Aljoša Duplić (director of the Institute for Environment and Nature at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development), Marijana Miljas Đuračić (director of the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Natural Areas of Dubrovnik-Neretva County), Nella Slavica (director of the Public Institution National Park Krka), and Alma Majstorović (director of Vrtlar d.o.o.). After the presentation of the project, the employees of Krka National Park demonstrated the removal of the Ailanthus tree.
